Breeding Program
The objective of my breeding program is to produce the most perfect representatives of Chihuahuas and Griffons that I can. For me, perfection includes breed type and style, soundness of structure and movement, and soundness of temperament. Of even greater importance is the production of a healthy dog that will be someone's beloved companion for many, many years.
To reach this goal, I devote hours to continually learning as much as I can about my breeds, including health and genetic concerns, temperament, appearance and type. I am happy to have good contacts with some Master Breeders around the World, and I appreciate their experience and good advices very much. Respect for others and their opinions is important, and opens the door for exchange of ideas. Together we can share a common goal of good ethical breeding.
Since Breed Type and Soundness are priorities in my breeding program, I am extremely selective about my breeding stock. Only exceptional dogs of consistent quality are retained for the breeding program. Consistency in the selection procedure allows me to go on and on, generation after generation.
When I plan a new litter, I do it with great care and consideration. I always research into the dogs' pedigrees for potential health problems and compatibility to ensure the domination of desirable traits in puppies. Although it's known that the small breeds are not good whelpers (especially Chihuahuas), I strive to produce good-sized, healthy litters, and to keep the process as natural as possible. I only use the strong constructed females for breeding to minimize their health risks during the pregnancy, birth and the after birth period.
Every my litter breed from the fully health checked parents. I feel it is very important to ensure the dogs I breed are free of hereditary faults and in the prime condition for breeding. We are happy to have an excellent veterinarian who takes care of our adult dogs and their puppies.
Dog breeding involves art, science and total devotion. I will do my best to combine these three things, and produce Chihuahuas and Griffons of excellent quality with an outgoing temperament.
