A brief introduction...

Affix "ALEN'S DREAM" was registered by me, Diana Alenskaja in 2004.
My interest in dogs started at a very tender age, and my first involvement with dogs were my parents' Boxers. I was responsible for taking care of them, daily walking and training.
As time passed, I grew up, was educated as Food Technician, married with Viktor and got our daughter Marina, but the dogs have always been a great part of my life. |
I always admired small dog breeds, and in 1996 I got my first Chihuahua. It was a lovely Long Coat girl, who was never bred or shown but was our wonderful pet. As I would like to show and breed my dogs, I did research in different blood-lines and finally got Chihuahuas of breeding/show quality. From 2004 I began to breed Chihuahuas under the affix "Alen's Dream".
One day I saw a Griffon Petit Brabancon (or Small Brabant Griffon) at a dog show. It was clear for me at once, that I would also have these beautiful dogs in my kennel. (Remembering my parents' Boxers I couldn't stop thinking about the short-muzzled dogs!) So, in 2008 I got my first Petit Brabancon Female puppy.
Since that time I devote myself to breeding and showing quality Chihuahuas and Griffons.
Dog breeding involves not only total devotion, but also science.
Although I have had a rather big experience with dogs, I realized I needed much more knowledge to breed the quality dogs. Therefore I have studied dogs' genetics, function, nutrition, pedigrees, training, behavior and temperament.
To do things best possible I have got a Special Breeder Education in 2005, and then a supplementary Seminar on Genetics in 2006. Many successful dog breeders have done well without formal genetic education, but I believe, it is very beneficial to have a basic knowledge of how the mechanics of genetics work. Besides the Breeder Education, I keep educating myself with all the newest books about how to breed better and healthier dogs.
My education continues daily - as I continue to raise, love and breed the dogs.
With the strong foundation of dogs that I currently own, I hope to make a positive contribution to these wonderful breeds that have captured my heart.
